UML National Convention: Representatives selected nationwide



KATHMANDU: Representatives have been selected for the 11th national convention of the CPN (UML) across the country on Saturday. Around 2,200 representatives were selected in a peaceful manner, the party said.

According to the CPN (UML) Publicity Department Chief, Rajendra Gautam, selection for the representatives for the 11th national convention in all committees concluded today.

“Representatives have been selected unanimously in most of the committees while elections were held in some places for this purpose,” he added.

Gautam mentioned that they have directed the concerned committees to conclude the selection process through the election in some places if the process could not advance unanimously.  Four representatives have been selected from each constituency.

The UML has directed to send the details of the selected representatives at the party central office within December 1.

Meanwhile, Press Chautari Nepal has selected representatives for the UML’s 11th national convention.

A meeting of the office-bearers of the organisation held on Saturday unanimously selected former Chairpersons Rajendra Aryal and Ganesh Basnet, current chairperson Ganesh Pandey and Pratima Silwal and Mina Bishwokarma.

Similarly, Govinda Bahadur Shahi, Saroj Kumar Regmi, Padam Bahadur BK, Srijana Ghimire and Dr Tika Dhakal were selected unanimously as the representatives from Nepal Intellectual Council.

The CPN (UML) is holding its 11th national convention from December 13-15 in Kathmandu.
