UML General Secretary Pokharel says nationalist forces under attack, calls for unity in crisis



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that nationalist forces in the country are coming under continuous attack, stressing that political unity and policy clarity are essential at a time of national crisis.

Posting on social media Friday morning, Pokharel remarked that Nepal is going through a difficult phase and urged party leaders and cadres to move forward in a unified manner.

“The country is in crisis and attacks on nationalist forces continue,” he wrote. “In such a situation, firmness in policy and unity in leadership are indispensable. Let us move forward, progress is possible.”

The 11th National General Convention of the CPN-UML is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from December 13 to 15.

Ahead of the convention, UML is selecting delegates from across the country today, seeking consensus where possible and opting for voting in places where agreement cannot be reached.
