16 political party reps, 14 Gen-Z groups to join tripartite election talks today



KATHMANDU: A tripartite meeting convened by Prime Minister Sushila Karki will see the participation of 16 representatives from major political parties and 14 members from various Gen-Z groups today at 4 pm at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

The discussions aim to create a conducive environment for the upcoming elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, and to build political consensus among stakeholders.

Political party representatives include senior leaders from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), National Independent Party, and National Democratic Party. Gen-Z groups represented include ‘Indigenous Gen-Z Collective,’ ‘How to Desh Bikash,’ and ‘Gen-Z Movement Alliance.’

Government participants at the meeting will include Prime Minister Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Communications and IT Minister Jagdish Kharel, and the Prime Minister’s chief advisor Ajaybhadra Khanal.

The government has been conducting phased consultations with political and youth groups to ensure the elections proceed smoothly on the scheduled date.
