Cabinet meeting being held ahead of PM Oli’s China visit



KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers convened Friday morning ahead of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s scheduled departure for China. According to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat, the cabinet meeting began at 10 am.

Oli will travel to Tianjin on Saturday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit from August 30 to September 3. On the same evening of his arrival, he is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

Following the cabinet session, Oli will address the House of Representatives at 1 p.m. in Singha Durbar. Later in the afternoon, at 3:15 p.m., he is scheduled to attend the 32nd anniversary celebration of the National Sports Council.
