KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Federation of Nepalese Industries and Entrepreneurs (FENIE) have strongly condemned the violent incidents in Tinkune on Friday, demanding compensation for damages and strict action against those responsible.

In separate statements, both federations expressed grave concern over the destruction of private and public property, including business establishments, media houses, and commercial offices, during the violent royalist protest.

The FNCCI highlighted that while peaceful protests are a constitutional right, acts of arson, looting, and attacks on businesses and individuals are unacceptable. It urged authorities to ensure public safety and prevent future unrest.

Similarly, the FENIE highlighted the economic impact of such attacks, stating that repeated assaults on industrialists, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs weaken the economy and undermine business confidence.

The federation urged the government to swiftly prosecute those involved in Friday’s violence and implement effective security measures to protect businesses and the general public.

Both federations appealed for unity in safeguarding Nepal’s economic stability and democratic values while urging industrialists and business owners to remain vigilant in defending the republican system.
