KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is set to visit Tinkune, Kathmandu, today morning to inspect the damage caused during Friday’s violent protests led by pro-monarchy supporters.
According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, Lekhak is scheduled to leave for Tinkune at 9 AM.
The unrest, led by medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, resulted in two deaths and 110 injuries, with houses and offices set on fire at 14 locations in the name of a movement to restore the monarchy.
According to Kathmandu Police, a journalist and a protester lost their lives in the violence.
The deceased have been identified as Sabin Maharjan (29) and Suresh Rajak, both residents of Kirtipur Municipality-4, Kathmandu.
