Sapkota elected president of Akhil Krantikari (ANNISU-R)



KATHMANDU: Bijay Prakash Sapkota has been elected as the president of the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), or ANNISU-R, the student wing of CPN (Maoist Center).

According to the final vote count concluded at Parisdanda, Sapkota defeated his rival Hemant Rai by a margin of 73 votes.

Sapkota had the backing of Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Deputy General Secretary Shakti Basnet, while Rai was supported by Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma.
