Fire in Taplejung’s Sidingwa causes damage worth over Rs 5 million



TAPLEJUNG: A fire triggered by an electrical short circuit at Bhanjyang Bazaar in Sidingwa Rural Municipality-4, Taplejung, has caused an estimated loss of around Rs 5 million.

The blaze erupted on the fourth floor of a five-story corrugated-roof house belonging to local resident Deni Tamang. According to Jatashankar Yadav, Police Inspector and Information Officer at the District Police Office, Taplejung, the fire destroyed the roof, timber, machinery, laptops, computers, and other materials.

The incident was brought under control through joint efforts of police personnel and local residents.
