Home Minister pledges to ensure provincial security, strengthen federal–province relations



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has pledged to further strengthen relations between the federal and provincial governments.

During a meeting today with Madhesh Province Minister for Home, Law and Communications Bimala Ansari, Minister Aryal said the federal government is fully committed to ensuring security in Madhesh Province.

He also assured that the implementation process of the Police Adjustment Act would be expedited to improve security arrangements in the province.

According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, Minister Aryal reaffirmed his commitment to holding the upcoming House of Representatives elections—scheduled for March 5, 2026—within the stipulated timeframe.

The two leaders also discussed issues related to overall peace and security, crime control, and strengthening coordination between provincial and federal security agencies, it is said.
