Govt deploys army after royalist’s violent protest

KATHMANDU: The Nepali government has deployed army in the Tinkune area of Kathmandu after the royalist movement escalated into violent protests.

The local administration had previously imposed a curfew in Tinkune, Koteshwor, and Sinamangal areas to contain the situation.

Following the curfew order issued at 4:25 pm on Friday, the Nepal Army was seen stationed in Tinkune with armored vehicles to maintain control over the volatile area.

Authorities are taking strict measures to address the ongoing violence, including permitting the police to use force against those involved in arson and other violent activities.

The curfew is in effect until 10 pm Friday, with authorities urging residents to stay indoors to avoid further conflicts.
