PM Oli says third Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit will strengthen bilateral ties

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed confidence that the Third Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit-2025 will significantly enhance the relationship between Nepal and Japan.

During a meeting with the Japanese delegation and Nepali coordinators attending the summit at the Prime Minister’s Residence in Baluwatar today, he highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of trade and people-to-people exchanges.

“Long-standing government-to-government and people-to-people relations between Nepal and Japan are now expanding into new areas, including imports and exports,” Oli said.

He noted that many Nepali workers have found employment in Japan and stressed the increasing cultural exchange, such as the Golden Troupe’s visit from Japan to Nepal.

“Our friendship is stronger than mere words; it’s a blossoming relationship, like sakura. This partnership, free of conflict, must be propelled forward with the help of information technology,” he said.

Oli also praised Japan’s philosophy of peace and development, drawing attention to Japan’s commitment to ensuring global peace and the lessons it offers on the destructive consequences of war and the benefits of peace.

The summit, which runs from February 26 to 28, is organized by LeadX Nepal and Fourth Valley, a group under Idea Studio Nepal known for promoting entrepreneurship and providing business guidance.

The event aims to deepen bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
