Power outage scheduled in parts of Kathmandu today



KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a scheduled power outage in various parts of Kathmandu today.

Issuing a notice, the authority stated that electricity supply will be disrupted under the Panipokhari Feeder and Hospital Feeder from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

According to NEA, areas including Lazimpat, Panipokhari, Maharajgunj and surrounding areas of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital will be affected by the outage.

Similarly, power supply will remain suspended in and around the President’s Residence, Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau and Nepal Police Hospital, the Maharajgunj Distribution Center said.

The outage is being carried out to connect underground cables as part of the Kathmandu Valley Central and Northern Distribution System Strengthening Project. NEA said electricity supply will be resumed earlier than scheduled if the work is completed ahead of time.
