Prachanda calls for unity and collaboration among progressive forces

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Coordinator of the General Convention Organizing Committee of the CPN (Maoist Centre), has underscored the need to strengthen unity, mutual respect, and collaboration among progressive forces to build a just and prosperous Nepal.

Extending his best wishes on the occasion of Chhath, Dahal said the festival represents faith, social harmony, and gratitude toward nature. “By fostering mutual respect, social harmony, and cooperation among progressive forces, we can collectively move towards building a prosperous, just, and socialist Nepal,” he said in his message.

He noted that in the current political, economic, and social challenges facing the country, the message of self-confidence, patience, and optimism symbolized by Chhath has become even more significant.

The former Prime Minister expressed hope that the festival would inspire light, purity, and positive energy among all Nepalis. “May the Chhath festival illuminate the darkness within nature and humanity, ushering in peace, prosperity, and stability in the nation,” he added.

Observed as a major festival in the Madhesh-Terai region, Chhath is deeply rooted in Nepali culture, traditions, and everyday life. It reinforces the bond between humans and nature, emphasizing coexistence, balance, and self-purification.
