Nepali set for double T20 clash with South Australia on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal national cricket team, currently touring Australia, is scheduled to play two T20 matches against South Australia on Thursday.

The first match will begin at 5:15 am, followed immediately by the second match at 9:15 am.

Earlier in the week, Nepal competed in two T20 games against the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) on Tuesday. In the first game, Nepal secured a 41-run victory, while in the second, they won by six wickets.

Leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane played a starring role in the first match, taking five wickets, including a hat-trick, while Dipendra Singh Airee and Sahib Alam shared four wickets each in the second game.

After Thursday’s two T20s, Nepal will play a one-day international (ODI) match against South Australia on Saturday, starting at 5:15 a.m. Nepal aims to build on their strong form in Australia ahead of the ODI.

Meanwhile, the Nepal ‘A’ team will also be in action on Thursday, playing a T20 series in India. The series against Assam in Guwahati will run from August 28 to September 3. The 16-member Nepal ‘A’ squad, led by Anil Kumar Shah, will play their first match against Assam on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
