Water supply service reaches 3,000 homes in Tanahu



DAMAULI: Water supply services have been expanded to nearly 3,000 households in Tanahu district over the past fiscal year.

According to the Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office, a total of 2,927 homes were connected to the water supply system in fiscal year 2024/25.

Office Chief Shambhuraj Khanal said that 2,221 households received access through programs supported by the Gandaki Province government, 226 through the federal government’s conditional grant program, and 480 under special grants. In the previous fiscal year, the office had provided water access to 2,000 homes.

Chief Khanal added that the target for the current fiscal year 2082/83 is to extend water services to 4,300 households. Of the Rs 432 million allocated under the capital budget for 2024/25, the office spent Rs 394.691 million.
