‘Pakistan-Nepal Children Park’ inaugurated in Budhanilkantha

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, today inaugurated the “Pakistan-Nepal Children Park” at Ward No. 8, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu.

The event was attended by Mitharam Adhikari, Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality; Binod Thapa, Creative Member of the Municipality; Hira Prasad Gupta, Elected Governor of Lions International; Ram Prasad Upadhaya, Chairman of HRS Adventures; Siromani Sharma, social activist and General Secretary of Frontier Global Foundation Asia; along with other members of the local community, civil society, media representatives, and officials from the Embassy.

In his address, Ambassador Hashmi expressed appreciation for the partnership with Budhanilkantha Municipality in executing the park project.

He also commended the Embassy team for their efforts in upgrading the children’s play area, installing new swings, and constructing a walking track—creating a welcoming space for all age groups.

The park, dedicated to the children of the Gulftar community, was described as a “gift from the children and people of Pakistan.”

Mayor Mitharam Adhikari and other special guests thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for their generous contribution. They expressed hope that the park would become a lasting symbol of friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan.

Community members and civil society participants also extended their gratitude to the Embassy and local government for renovating the park with modern equipment and improved landscaping.

Residents expressed joy at having a safe, well-equipped space where children can play and people of all ages can engage in healthy recreational activities.

This is the third park renovated by the Embassy of Pakistan in the last three years, in collaboration with the Kathmandu and Budhanilkantha Municipalities. These parks are envisioned as inclusive spaces where families can gather, children can play, and elders can socialize.

Pakistan-Nepal relations remain people-centric, rooted in shared cultural values and mutual cooperation between civic institutions, youth, women, and environmental advocates for the betterment of both nations.
