JSP Nepal withdraws support from Lumbini government

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has formally withdrawn its support from the Lumbini provincial government. Party Chairman Upendra Yadav confirmed the decision on Friday.

“We were not part of the government. We had extended support, but that support has been withdrawn as of today,” Yadav stated.

Earlier on Friday, JSP Nepal’s sole representative in the Lumbini Provincial Assembly, Ambika Kafle, met with Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya and submitted a letter officially withdrawing the party’s support.

In a broader political move, JSP Nepal is also preparing to withdraw its support from the federal government.

A recent meeting of the party’s executive committee decided to end support at the national level and instructed the parliamentary party to proceed accordingly.

Yadav added that a meeting of the parliamentary party will be convened soon to finalize the necessary steps.
