Cabinet decisions: 10 secretaries transferred, key appointments and agreements approved



KATHMANDU: The government has transferred 10 secretaries at once, as per the decisions made during the Cabinet meeting held on Monday, 12 Jestha. The decisions were made public on Tuesday by government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The transferred officials are from the gazetted special class of the civil service. The Cabinet also decided to promote Joint Secretary Bhupal Baral from the administration service and Dinanath Mishra from the engineering service to the position of secretary.

The meeting approved the tabling of a bill on information technology and cyber security in Parliament and endorsed the Public Service Broadcasting Regulations 2082. Laxman Humagain was appointed as the new chairperson of the Advertisement Board.

Additionally, the Cabinet accepted grant assistance of approximately Rs 537.6 million from the Government of Japan for a scholarship project. Senior scientist Dr. Krishna Prasad Timilsina was appointed as the executive director of the Nepal Agricultural Research Council. The Cabinet also approved a memorandum of understanding related to sending Nepali workers to South Korea through the EPS program and authorized the appropriate official to sign the agreement.
