Durga Prasai designated ‘commander’ of pro-monarchy movement



KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai, a medical entrepreneur, has been appointed as the ‘commander’ of the pro-monarchy movement by the ‘United People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy.’

The committee, which advocates for the restoration of former King Gyanendra Shah to the throne, has named Prasai as the commander for the movement planned for Friday.

At a press conference held in Kathmandu on Thursday, Nawaraj Subedi, the committee’s coordinator, announced Prasai’s appointment as ‘commander.’

Under Prasai’s leadership, royalists will be protesting in Kathmandu on Friday. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has designated Tinkune as the protest venue.

Prasai entered Nirmal Niwas on Thursday afternoon for talks with former King Gyanendra Shah.
