KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has formed a budget drafting committee for the fiscal year 2082/83.
The committee is led by Budget Division Chief Shree Krishna Nepal, with members including Foreign Aid Division Chief Dhaniram Sharma, Revenue Division Chief Uttar Kumar Khatri, Administration Division Chief Thana Prasad Pangeni, Deputy Director General of the Inland Revenue Department Tirtha Chiluwal, and Deputy Auditor General Sushila Aryal.
According to Nepal, the committee is responsible for setting budget principles and priorities, facilitating project and program prioritization across ministries, drafting the budget speech, and providing recommendations for policies and programs.
The Finance Ministry has also allocated budget limits for current, capital, financial expenditures, and intergovernmental fiscal transfers within the budget ceiling approved by the Resource Committee of the National Plan.
As per the financial procedure and fiscal accountability act, 2076, the budget ceiling and drafting guidelines must be sent by Falgun 15.
