One killed in dry landslide



KAVREPALANCHOK: A labourer died on the spot today after being buried in a dry landslide in Kanakot, Namobuddha Municipality-1.

Durjan Majhi, 38, of Sakhuwa Parseni Rural Municipality-3, Parsa, died when a dry landslide collapsed the second-floor pillar of the old age home building that he was working in.

According to the District Police Office, Majhi died on the spot when the dry landslide caused the pillar to collapse and the rod hit his head. The police have said that further investigation is underway into the incident.

Meanwhile, the body of 38-year-old Nisha Lama of Mandandeupur Municipality-11 was found in the forest of Panchkhal Municipality-3, five months after she went was reported missing.

The police have arrested 36-year-old Sunil Ranjitkar of Dhulikhel Municipality-6 today on charges of murdering Lama.

Similarly, 35-year-old Shree Krishna Giri was found dead today in Saping of Bhumlu Rural Municipality-1. Police Inspector Dinesh Bahadur Kunwar said that the incident is being investigated as injury marks were found on Giri’s head and body.
