NEPSE drops by 10.61 points, closing at 2,633.32



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a decline of 10.61 points on Monday, closing at 2,633.32.

During the day’s trading, 17.253 million shares worth Rs 8.924 billion were exchanged in 87,564 transactions involving 312 companies.

Among these, share prices of 105 companies rose, 129 declined, and nine remained unchanged.

Out of the 13 sector groups, five registered gains while eight experienced declines. The finance group recorded the highest growth, surging by 3.46 %, followed by the microfinance group, which inched up by 0.04 %.

On the other hand, the trading group experienced the sharpest decline, falling by 1.83 %. The hotel and tourism group saw the smallest dip, decreasing by 0.51 %.

Despite the decline in the NEPSE index, trading activity remained robust, reflecting continued investor engagement. However, the mixed performance across sectors indicates varied investor sentiment in different segments of the market.
