KATHMANDU: Elected representatives from Achham have called on Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to investigate the deaths of two teenage girls whose bodies were discovered in a forest in Dhakari Rural Municipality-8 on Saturday evening.

The victims, 15-year-old Saraswati Khadka and 14-year-old Ishara Khadka, were found in the Sunghar Community Forest, Ward No. 1 of Dhakari Rural Municipality.

In response to the incident, former minister and Achham-1 MP Sher Bahadur Kunwar, Achham-2 MP Pushpa Bahadur Shah, and Panchadeval Binayak Municipality Mayor Ambika Chalaune met with Minister Lekhak to demand a thorough and fair investigation into the deaths.

Chalaune stated that Minister Lekhak assured them that the incident was being taken seriously, and the police had initiated a detailed inquiry.
