Communications Minister Kharel to hold talks with top leaders of major parties today



KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Jagdish Kharel is scheduled to hold meetings with top leaders of major political parties on Friday.

According to the minister’s private secretariat, Kharel met Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at 9:30 am.

Following the meeting with Deuba, Kharel is set to hold talks with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli. He is scheduled to reach Oli’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, at 11 am.

Likewise, the secretariat said that Kharel will meet Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at noon. The meetings with the top leaders will take place at their respective private residences.

The government has intensified dialogue with senior political leaders as part of efforts to create a conducive environment for the upcoming elections.

Earlier, a high-level meeting involving Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the top three party leaders was held at the initiative of President Ramchandra Paudel to discuss election-related issues.
