NC representatives demanding Special General Convention gather in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress representatives pushing for a Special General Convention convened in Kathmandu today. Their assembly has begun at the Rastriya Sabha Griha.

Following the Gen-Z movement and the political developments that followed, around 54 percent of Congress General Convention representatives had submitted signatures to Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka on October 15, demanding that a Special General Convention be held. However, no procedural steps have been taken so far.

Earlier, on November 19, leaders advocating the Special General Convention held a press conference, urging the party leadership to fix a date and venue for the event. The party’s Central Working Committee is also meeting tomorrow afternoon in Sanepa to discuss decisions related to the convention.
