Ministry of Finance launches Integrated Office Management System

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has officially launched the Government Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) to streamline internal operations and promote paperless governance.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal inaugurated the system by digitally approving a file through GIOMS, marking the system’s formal rollout.

Designed to make government operations simpler, faster, more transparent, and cost-effective, GIOMS integrates various administrative tasks into a single digital platform. It aims to enhance efficiency across government agencies by replacing paper-based processes with a unified IT system.

To implement the government’s vision of paperless service delivery, the use of GIOMS—developed by the Information Technology Department under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology—has been made mandatory within the Ministry of Finance.

Under this system, all key administrative tasks—such as issuing orders and decisions, registering letters and invoices, approving attendance, leave, and work tasks, and managing records—must now be completed electronically using digital signatures.

The Ministry expects that the adoption of GIOMS will accelerate decision-making, reduce administrative costs, improve transparency, and strengthen accountability in government operations.
