Nomination for State Affairs Committee chair scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: The process to elect a new chairperson of the House of Representatives’ State Affairs and Good Governance Committee has officially begun, with nominations scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

According to Parliament Secretariat officials, committee members may register their candidacy between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., provided the nomination is seconded by at least one fellow member. The final list of candidates will be published at 4:15 p.m.

The election is slated for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

The post has remained vacant since August 12, when then-chair Ramhari Khatiwada resigned. The upcoming vote will determine his successor at the influential parliamentary committee responsible for oversight of governance and state restructuring.
