Pakistan Embassy awards scholarships to 195 Nepali students

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the 13th Ambassador of Pakistan Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony at the Radisson Hotel on Thursday.

Ek Nath Dhakal, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Nepal Family Party, attended the event as the Chief Guest and distributed Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarships to outstanding Nepali students.

These scholarships are awarded annually to the most deserving and academically bright students, nominated by the principals of various schools across Nepal. This year, 195 students from 102 schools received the awards. Additionally, a laptop was presented to one exceptional student in recognition of consistent academic excellence.

In his address, Minister Dhakal praised Pakistan for its continued technical support to Nepal, particularly in the education sector. He described the scholarship program as a testament to the longstanding and friendly relations between the two countries. He also expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire youth in both nations to pursue a shared vision and emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral ties beyond education.

Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi, in his remarks, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing the scholarship program and strengthening educational cooperation at all levels, including for higher secondary students in Nepal.

He noted that the ceremony was a celebration of student success and a reflection of shared responsibility between the two nations. Ambassador Hashmi also highlighted the importance of encouraging Nepali youth in academics, sports, and socially enriching activities as a key element of bilateral engagement.

Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Program has grown steadily in popularity and impact, becoming a valued opportunity for Nepali students across the country.
