Gen Z Front urges Election Commission to ensure voting rights for Nepalis abroad

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Gen Z Front on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission (EC), calling for Nepali citizens living abroad, and those residing outside their home districts, to be allowed to vote in the upcoming elections.

According to Karnali Province focal person Binita Bogati, a team comprising Front Campaign Committee member Amrita Ban and members Rhishi Thapa, Nabin Bista, Adarsha Karna, and Diamond Shahi reached the EC to hand over the memorandum.

The Front has stressed that no eligible Nepali voter should be deprived of the right to vote due to legal or technical constraints. It has demanded that arrangements enabling Nepalis abroad to cast their ballots be implemented immediately, beginning with the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
