Voter registration begins, citizens aged 16 and above with citizenship eligible to register



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has resumed voter registration for the upcoming midterm elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Citizens who have completed 16 years of age and obtained a citizenship certificate can register their names until Kartik 30.

Eligible citizens who have not yet registered can visit provincial or district election offices from 8 am to 6 pm. The commission has also allowed voters to update details, transfer their voting location, or correct errors during this period.

Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai urged all eligible Nepalis to register in time, saying, “Free and fair elections are the nation’s pride, and timely registration is essential to safeguard this right.”
