Interim PM Karki calls cabinet meeting at 4 pm



KATHMANDU: The Cabinet is set to meet on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the meeting will begin at 4 pm Following the Cabinet session, Prime Minister Sushila Karki is scheduled to deliver a televised address to the nation at 6 pm.

This will mark PM Karki’s first address to the nation since she took over as head of the interim government formed in the wake of the Gen-Z movement.

Former Chief Justice Karki was appointed prime minister on September 12. The interim government was established after the nationwide Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9, which ultimately led to the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Karki’s Cabinet has already announced fresh elections for March 5, 2026, as part of its mandate to steer the country through transition.
