Nepal and Thailand share cultural values and economic potential: Foreign Minister Rana

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has emphasized the deep-rooted cultural ties between Nepal and Thailand.

Inaugurating the “Thai Flavors in the Himalayas” trade fair in Kathmandu today, she said that the two countries share many cultural similarities and enjoy longstanding historical relations.

Minister Rana highlighted the shared values of hospitality, religious and cultural harmony, and mutual respect between the peoples of Nepal and Thailand.

She underscored tourism as a common ground for prosperity and urged Thai investors to explore opportunities in Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sectors.

Noting Nepal’s growing entrepreneurial landscape and its export potential in handicrafts and other products, she invited Thai industrialists and businesspeople to invest in Nepal’s expanding market.

Minister Rana also pointed out that both Nepal and Thailand are sovereign nations that have never been colonized. Recalling Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s recent official visit to Thailand, she said several agreements were signed at both governmental and private levels during that trip, further strengthening bilateral ties.

She called for the continuation of such high-level exchanges to deepen cooperation in the future. The trade fair was jointly organized by the Thai Embassy in Nepal and Bhatbhateni Supermarket.
