UML lifts suspension on Binda Pandey and Ushakiran Timilsina

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has officially lifted the six-month suspension it had imposed on Standing Committee member Dr. Binda Pandey and Central Committee member Ushakiran Timilsina. The party’s secretariat meeting on Wednesday reversed the suspension decision originally made on December 25, 2024.

UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed that both leaders, who were suspended for making internal party matters public, have now been reinstated.

The initial disciplinary action came after Pandey and Timilsina publicly opposed the party’s decision to accept land from businessman Min Bahadur Gurung, owner of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, for constructing UML’s new central office in Kirtipur. Their dissent had led to calls within the Secretariat for demotion, but the party eventually opted for a six-month suspension instead.
