NEPSE edges down slightly; turnover nears Rs 6 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index slipped marginally on Wednesday, despite a slight uptick before the market closed. Due to the final value being calculated based on a 15-minute average, the market ended in negative territory.

By closing time, the benchmark index had declined by 0.33 points, settling at 2,600.20. The day’s total transaction amounted to approximately Rs 5.94 billion, with over 13.7 million shares traded across the market.

A total of 311 companies saw trading activity during the session. Of them, 112 recorded an increase in share prices, while 134 experienced a decline. The price of one company remained unchanged. Trading took place in 61,824 transactions throughout the day.

Out of 13 sectoral groups, 6 posted gains while 7 declined. Despite the slight dip in the index, investor participation remained steady with a moderate volume of trade.
