Fake exam taker arrested in Kathmandu



 

KATHMANDU: Police in Kathmandu have arrested an individual for impersonating a student during an examination.

Keshav Rokaya, 26, originally from Chandannath Municipality-8, Jumla, and currently residing in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4, was apprehended on charges of taking the third-semester MPA (Master of Public Administration) exam as a fake candidate.

Police were alerted that Keshav Rokaya was taking the exam on behalf of Dan Bahadur Rokaya at the Public Administration Campus, located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14. A team from the Kalimati Police Circle quickly responded and arrested him.

Authorities have confirmed that Rokaya has been remanded into custody for five days by the Kathmandu District Administration Office under the Education Act Offense case. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
