PM Oli’s parliamentary address postponed amid absence of key leaders

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s scheduled address to the first meeting of the budget session today has been postponed.

According to UML Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, the address was deferred due to the absence of top leaders from the major political parties.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is currently in Thailand, while Maoist Centre Chair and opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is in Gorkha.

In their absence, second-tier leaders will now address the opening of the session, originally scheduled for 1 pm.
