Minister Khadka seeks third clarification from Kulman Ghising

KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has issued a third clarification notice to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising, citing dissatisfaction with his previous responses.

Stating that the past two explanations were neither objective nor satisfactory, Minister Khadka has asked Ghising to submit a detailed report within 24 hours justifying why he should not be removed from his position.

The notice references the performance agreement signed between the ministry and Ghising on January 19, 2022, as well as the NEA’s service regulations.

The clarification letter specifically asks Ghising to account for his actions as the executive director and explain why he should not be dismissed.

Minister Khadka had initially planned to table a proposal for Ghising’s removal in Monday’s Cabinet meeting.

However, he stepped back after facing opposition from Minister of State Purna Bahadur Tamang.
