KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chair of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister, has expressed confidence that the public’s view toward the Maoists remains positive as he continues his efforts to connect with the people.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Press Center Dang in Ghorahi on Saturday, Dahal shared that he is actively engaging with the people to understand their perspectives.

Dahal highlighted that the Maoist Center would benefit if the current government remains in power until the next election, noting the high expectations people have of the party.

“The people have high hopes for us, so we are not working towards toppling the government,” he said.

While acknowledging some challenges within the ruling political parties, as well as errors within his own party, Dahal emphasized the Maoist Center’s commitment to self-correction and improvement.

He also confirmed that the party would contest the upcoming elections independently, underscoring their intention to continue on their own political path.
