5,393 new voters added in Baglung

BAGLUNG: A total of 5,393 new voters have been registered in Baglung for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026.

According to the District Election Office, Baglung, the district previously had 189,173 registered voters. District Election Officer Yagya Prasad Rijal said that of the newly added voters, 1,464 registered through the biometric process at the office, while 3,929 were registered using their national identity cards. An additional 100 voters were registered from outside the district.

Rijal stated that the office is currently working to categorize male and female voters in the photo-attached voter list prepared through national identity cards. He added that youth participation in the registration process has been notably high. The office is also carrying out corrections and address changes in preparation for the election.

“This time, most of the newly registered voters are young people. Some transferred their voter registration, and more people registered online using their national identity cards than by visiting the office. We are now separating the number of male and female voters registered online,” Rijal said.

Nepali citizens aged 18 and above with citizenship certificates are eligible to register on the voter list.
