NPL: Two matches scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: After a rest day on Sunday, the seventh day of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), cricket action resumes today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur with two exciting matches.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had earlier announced that Sunday would be a scheduled break. Today’s first match, starting at 11:45 am, will feature Janakpur Bolts taking on Biratnagar Kings, while the second match, scheduled for 4:00 pm, will see Karnali Yaks face Sudurpaschim Royals.

In the current points table, Sudurpaschim Royals and Biratnagar Kings, having played two matches each, lead with four points apiece. Kathmandu Gurkhas, with three matches played, are in third place with two points, while Pokhara Avengers sit at the bottom after losing both of their two matches.

The NPL, which began on November 17, features eight franchise teams: Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gurkhas, and Lumbini Lions. The final is scheduled for December 13.
