Petroleum imports worth nearly Rs 3 billion through Kakarbhitta in two months

JHAPA: In the first two months of the current fiscal year, petroleum products worth Rs 2.84 billion were imported through the Kakarbhitta checkpoint. The imports included petrol, diesel, liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, aviation turbine fuel (ATF), and kerosene.

Despite the decrease in import volume, revenue from petroleum imports rose by 0.5 percent, an increase of Rs 6.43 million.

Statistics from the customs office show that petroleum imports generated Rs 1.39 billion in revenue during the months of August and September.
