DANG: One person was killed and another injured in a collision between a tipper truck and a motorcycle early this morning in Dang district.
The accident occurred around 6:00 AM near Dhodre Bridge in Gadhwa Rural Municipality-1 this morning, when a westbound tipper (Na 8 Kha 8259) from Chandrauta collided with a motorcycle (Lu 39 Pa 8390) coming from Pyuthan.
According to Police Inspector Double Bahadur Bam, Chief of the Area Police Office Gadhwa, Sushil Thapa, 19, of Airavati Rural Municipality-5, Pyuthan, died during treatment at Bhalubang Hospital.
Another rider, Prachanda Thapa, 22, from the same locality, sustained injuries. He was initially treated at Bhalubang Hospital and later referred to Butwal for further care, said Inspector Bam.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Lamahi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, police have taken the tipper and its driver into custody for further investigation.
