Ghee distributed to pregnant women in Lekharka

BHOJPUR: Nutritional materials have been distributed in Lekharka, Ward No. 9 of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality, with the aim of improving the health of pregnant women and newborns.

According to Ward Chairman Nabaraj Mangpahang, the ward allocated around Rs 75,000 to support 20 pregnant women through the distribution of items such as ghee, eggs, nuts, and hygiene products.

Mangpahang shared that the program was initiated last year to prevent nutritional deficiencies among expectant mothers and promote the well-being of newborns.

“We’ve continued this initiative to ensure mothers and their babies receive proper nutrition,” he said. “We believe this program adds value to maternal and child health in the ward.”

During the event, participants were also provided with awareness messages about the benefits of local and organic foods and the importance of proper nutrition.
