Legislative Management Committee meeting taking place



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Federal Parliament’s Legislative Management Committee is taking place today.

The Committee is scheduled to hold a clause-wise discussion on the National Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081.

The bill was registered in the National Assembly, and a general discussion took place earlier. It was forwarded to the committee for clause-by-clause review.

The proposed bill envisions establishing a laboratory to analyze evidence through scientific methods. This includes testing biological or non-biological samples, documents, goods, physical items, and electronic materials submitted to the National Forensic Science Laboratory for research and examination.

The bill outlines provisions for the laboratory’s establishment, its roles and responsibilities, the formation and powers of the board of directors, testing procedures, appointment of the executive director and staff, management of funds, and guidelines for accounting and auditing.
