KATHMANDU: All 753 local governments across Nepal are scheduled to unveil their budgets for the fiscal year 2025/26 on Tuesday, in accordance with constitutional provisions.
As mandated by the Constitution, local units must present their revenue and expenditure estimates (budgets) to their respective municipal or village assemblies by June 24.
These budgets must be passed by the end of Asar.
Some local governments, including Bharatpur Metropolitan City, have already presented their budgets ahead of the deadline.
This follows the federal government’s budget presentation on May 29 and the provincial governments’ budgets on June 15.
The federal government is also set to pass its appropriation bill through the House of Representatives later today.
