Morning procession held at Pashupatinath on Mahashivaratri eve



KATHMANDU: On the eve of Mahashivaratri, a morning procession was held at the Pashupatinath Temple premises under the leadership of Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey.

Minister Pandey arrived at the temple in the morning to participate in the procession organized by the Pashupati Area Development Trust.

The event saw the participation of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Trust officials, students from Sanskrit Vidyashram, teachers, and locals.

The procession commenced from the main gate of Pashupatinath Temple, passing through Pingalasthan, Gaushala, and Jayabageshwori before concluding at the main gate.

After inspecting the temple premises, Minister Pandey directed the Trust to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees visiting Pashupati.

The Pashupati Area Development Trust stated that all preparations for Mahashivaratri have been completed. The arrival of saints from Nepal, India, and other countries is ongoing.

Arrangements for food, accommodation, and Dhuni (sacred fire) have been made for the saints, who will be sent off with Dakshina (offerings) on Aunsi, the day following Shivaratri.
