Prachanda meets families of armed conflict martyrs



KATHMANDU: Maoist Center chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is meeting families of cadres who lost their lives during the armed conflict as part of his political tour in western Nepal.

On Friday, Dahal visited the house of Bhagwati Chaudhary in Tulsipur-8, Batolpur, Dang, where six members of Chaudhary’s family were killed during the conflict led by the Maoist.

According to Dahal’s secretariat, the leader, accompanied by party officials, shared a traditional Tharu meal prepared by the family.

Earlier, on Thursday, Dahal visited the home of martyr Dambar Ranabhat in Khajura-3, Banke, and met with other families of martyrs in the region.

During his interactions, he reiterated his commitment to honoring the martyrs’ legacy, stating, “Martyrs never die. The party remains a friend of the families enduring their loss.”

During his third term as Prime Minister, Dahal said, all martyrs of the armed conflict were declared national martyrs, promising state recognition and support for their families. He assured the families of continued efforts to address their grievances and ensure their contributions are remembered.

On Friday, Dahal is set to address the party’s municipal convention inauguration and vigilance meeting at Araniko Maidan, Tulsipur. Following the event, he will visit the Shahid Smriti Residential Secondary School and meet descendants of martyrs. Later in the evening, he is scheduled to interact with industrialists and business leaders in Ghorahi.

Dahal’s tour will conclude on Saturday after attending programs in Ghorahi and Deukhuri. He will then return to the federal capital, Kathmandu.
