Nepal drawn in Group B for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier



KATHMANDU: The match schedule for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier, to be held in Kathmandu, has been announced. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) released the schedule on Tuesday morning, confirming Nepal’s placement in Group B.

A total of 10 countries will participate in the tournament, which will take place at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, and the Mulpani Cricket Ground. The competition is set to begin on January 18, with warm-up matches scheduled for January 14 and 16.

According to CAN, Group B includes Nepal, Scotland, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe, while Group A consists of Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, and the USA.

Nepal will face Thailand in their opening match on January 18 at Mulpani Cricket Ground. This marks the first time the Nepali women’s team has advanced past the Asia Qualifier to reach the Global Qualifier stage.

The tournament will also serve as a Super Six qualifier, with the top four teams from the Super Six progressing to the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
