Preservation of festivals will help build a society of coexistence: Former PM Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Unified Socialist and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the festivals of all castes and communities across the country serve as a unifying force for Nepal’s social diversity.

In his message of best wishes on the occasion of Tihar, Chairman Nepal expressed his belief that preserving the festivals and cultural traditions that embody the original identity of Nepalis will further strengthen national unity.

Extending greetings to all Nepalis at home and abroad, the former Prime Minister said that Tihar conveys a unique message of mutual respect and harmony. He noted that the festivals and cultural practices of Nepal’s multi-ethnic, multilingual, multi-religious, and multicultural society play an important role in promoting unity and understanding among communities.
