Petroleum imports worth Rs 26.33 billion enter Nepal via Birgunj in two months



BIRGUNJ: Petroleum products worth Rs 26.33 billion were imported through the Birgunj Customs Point during the first two months of the current fiscal year.

According to Chief Customs Administrator Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, the imported petroleum products include diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, aviation turbine fuel (ATF), and kerosene.

Compared to the same period last fiscal year, petroleum imports increased by Rs 1.76 billion. Correspondingly, revenue collection rose by Rs 1.29 billion.

Gyawali said the customs office had collected Rs 9.89 billion in revenue from petroleum imports in the first two months of the previous fiscal year. This figure rose to Rs 11.18 billion during the review period this year.
